Andrew York
Andrew York is a commercial trial and appellate litigator, with a focus on real estate and construction litigation. Prior to joining Armbrust & Brown, Andrew was a trial associate at Baker Botts, where he developed his skills working on a variety of complex litigation matters.
Andrew graduated from the University of Virginia in 2004 with degrees in mathematics and economics, and graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 2008. During law school, Andrew served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Lee Yeakel of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, and for the Honorable Bob Pemberton of the Third Court of Appeals.

- Favorably settled or obtained dismissal of numerous disputes involving contract claims, DTPA claims, restrictive covenants, landlord-tenant disputes, and disputes arising from real-estate transactions.
- Successfully drafted brief and presented oral argument against motion for summary judgment in breach-of-contract case involving non-compete clause.
- Successfully obtained temporary and permanent injunctions in invasion-of-privacy case.
- Lead drafter on numerous appellate briefs to Third Court of Appeals.
- Represented the receiver appointed for the Stanford Financial Group entities in SEC fraud case arising from $8 billion Ponzi scheme.
- Defended market-leading prepaid debit card company in state-court lawsuit alleging breach of patent license agreement concerning a method for reloading debit cards with value, with tens of millions of dollars in alleged damages.
- One of four named authors on amicus brief filed in United States Supreme Court in Caperton v. Massey, a judicial ethics case, on behalf of the Conference of Chief Justices.
- Represented convict in proceedings seeking DNA testing of twenty-year-old evidence, in collaboration with the Actual Innocence Clinic.
