Jeff Miller

Jeff Miller practices civil and family law in courts across the State of Texas. Jeff is a member of the State Bar of Texas and he has been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1998. He is also licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District.

Jeff graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas in 1994 and received the degree of Bachelor of Arts. He received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas in 1998.

After graduating law school, Jeff was a prosecutor for the City of Dallas. He then joined Minton, Burton, Foster & Collins, P.C. in Austin, Texas, where he practiced civil, family and criminal law as an associate and partner from 1999 to 2011. He joined Armbrust & Brown in 2012.

Jeff is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and a member of the Texas Bar Association, Travis County Bar Association, and Austin Bar Association. He also belongs to the Business Law and Family Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas.

Jeff has been recognized as a "Rising Star" in the Thompson Reuters service published by Texas Monthly Magazine.

  • Representative Experience
    • Represented numerous individuals in divorce cases involving the division of complex community estates, custody of children, child support and parental rights.
    • Defended resort owner in lawsuit by condominium developer seeking declaratory judgment and obtained favorable judgment on appeal. Horseshoe Bay Resort, Ltd. v. CRVI CDP Portfolio, LLC, 415 S.W.3d 370 (Tex.App.—Eastland 2013, no pet.).
    • Defended lawyer in lawsuit alleging breach of fiduciary duty and obtained take-nothing judgment after bench trial, which was affirmed on appeal. Hale v. Prud'homme, 2009 WL 349155 (Tex.App.—Austin 2009).
    • Defended lawyer and law firm in lawsuit alleging legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary duty, common law fraud, violations of the Texas Securities Act and violations of the Federal Securities Act.
    • Defended aviation company in federal court in lawsuit involving suit on a note and claims relating to maintenance and repair of transport category aircraft.
    • Defending aviation company in lawsuit alleging breach of contract involving sale of transport category aircraft.
    • Defended aviation company in dispute involving carrier's lien and shipment of engines for transport category aircraft.
    • Defended national equipment supplier in lawsuit alleging breach of contract, negligence, violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and common law fraud involving shipment of industrial equipment.
    • Defended community bank in lawsuit by individuals alleging numerous torts, including breach of fiduciary duty, breach of duty of good faith and fair dealing, common law fraud, breach of contract, tortious interference, violations of the Texas Finance Code and conspiracy.
